چکیده
Gastritis cystic polyposa/profunda (GCP) is defined as a hyperplastic polyp that contains foci of misplaced foveolar and/or glandular epithelium in the muscularis mucosae or in the deeper portions of the submucosa or the muscularis propria [1-6]. The lesion called polyposa when an intraluminal polyp is present [1,2] and profunda when the cystic lesion located within the submucosa [3] and the bulk of the lesion is located within the wall of the stomach [1,2]. The GCP is an uncommon lesion that develops in patients who have undergone gastroenterostomy with or without gastric resection[36] especially for treatment of a benign lesion, e. g., gastric ulcer [4,5]. GCP may rarely found in an unoperated stomach [3-8]. GCP was also described as polypoid tumors developed in the gastric mucosa adjacent to Billroth-II stoma at first time [3]. These lesion typically occur in patients with chronic bile reflux-induced gastritis as a result of partial gastrectomy [1,2]. Nonetheless, GCP could be reCase Report

AbsractGastritis cystic polyposa is a rare and peculiar polypoid lesion arising at a gastroenterostomysite, and almost always on the gastric side. It is characterized by elongationof the gastric foveolae along with hyperplasia and cystic dilatation of the gastricglands extending into the submucosal layer. A 47-year-old man was referred to the Gastroenterology Department for investigation of a polypoid stomach mass detected incidentally at abdominal computed tomography (CT). The patient did not describe any history of gastric operation. Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy revealed a broad-based polypoid mass, approximately 25mm in diameter, at the greater curvature of the corpus. The surface of the ...

Endoscopic evaluation of a 51 year old woman, who had referred with a 6-months complaint of epigastric pain and fullness in the upper abdomen, demonstrated a large polyp in the greater curvature of the middle third of the stomach. The size of the pedunculated polyp was about 25 mm. Polypectomy was done by snar base and diluted epinephrine was injected submucosally and in to the stem and polyp r...
متن کامل[A ten-year follow-up of a case with gastric adenoma accompanied with gastritis cystica profunda treated by endoscopic submucosal dissection].
Gastritis cystica profunda (GCP) is an uncommon hyperplastic benign lesion, and histologically characterized by hyperplasia and cystic dilatation of the gastric glands extending into the submucosal layer. GCP usually occurs at a gastroenterostomy site, although it can occasionally be found in an unoperated stomach. GCP is thought to be a possible precancerous lesion, since a few early gastric c...
متن کاملA Case of Early Gastric Cancer Arising from Gastritis Cystica Profunda Treated by Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection
Gastritis cystica profunda (GCP) consists of hyperplasia and cystic dilatation of the gastric glands extending into the submucosa. It occurs in the residual stomach post surgery and in the unoperated stomach. GCP is considered a benign lesion, but there is controversy about its malignant potential. We report a case of early gastric cancer arising from GCP treated by endoscopic submucosal dissec...
